If your local time is earlier than the GMT, you will
enter a negative number (use a dash “-“ before
the number). If your local time is later than the
GMT, just enter the number (no “+” before the
number).
Note: Use the current Standard Time when
entering the number into this field. If you
are in Daylight Savings Time (DST), or
Summer Time, you can adjust the DST
setting in the next section.
For example:
if you are in New York, your time
zone, Eastern Standard Time (EST), is five hours
less than
the GMT. You would enter
–5
in the
Time Zone field. The dash before the numbers
indicates that the number is a negative value &
should be deducted from the GMT.
Note: When setting the value for this field,
the only characters you should enter are a
dash “-“ (if the hours should be deducted
from the GMT), a period “.” (if you need to
enter a fraction, such as “4.5”), and a
number. Do not enter any letters.
TIP: To enter a dash “-“, press the 1 key 6
times. To enter a period “.”, press the 1 key
3 times.
8. To save your entry, press the
OK
button.
9. Press
the
Menu/Exit
button until the LCD
displays
Yap Jack Pro * Ready *
, and hang
up your telephone handset.
Using Daylight Savings Time
If your time zone is observing Daylight Savings Time
(DST), or Summer Time, you can set the Yap Jack Pro to
adjust the time automatically. Changing the value of the
DST field to
Yes
adjusts the time to be one hour later than
Standard Time. If you are currently on Standard Time
(from the late autumn through the early spring), you don’t
have to adjust this field, since the default is set to
No
.
