Assignment
3.2.1. Configure IP by SerialManager Utility
Use
SerialManager
which comes with product CD for following functions. For more details about
SerialManager, please see
Appendix B1
.
To find device by IP address or MAC address. Get unit’s current IP from table list.
To assign IP, network mask and gateway.
To assign ID, Password and Host Name.

Note: All settings were NOT changed if user ID or password was incorrect.
Unique IP address must be assigned on the device. If the same IP address is used on multiple
devices in the same subnet, user must correct the mapping between MAC address & IP address by
using ARP commands.
ARP commands
ARP (address resolution protocol) commands can be used to assign a static IP address on
GW5120 with its hardware MAC (media access control) address. The MAC
address"0060E9-xxxxxx" is printed on the rear side of GW5120. The following figure shows how to
use ARP command on MS-DOS command prompt window.
