ProSafe Quad WAN Gigabit Firewall FR538G Reference Manual
Router and Network Management
5-27
v1.0, November 2007
Direction
Available options include:
•
Upstream: control over LAN clients upstream bandwidth
•
Downstream: control over LAN clients downstream bandwidth
•
Server in LAN Upstream: control over upstream bandwidth utilization for
clients on the external network accessing the server located in LAN. For
example, an external client uploads files to a ftp server located in LAN.
•
Server in LAN Downstream: control over downstream bandwidth utilization for
clients on the external network accessing the server located in LAN. For
example, an external client downloads files from a ftp server located in LAN.
Type
Choose either “Rate Control” or “Priority” for QoS.
Diffserv QoS Match
Configures the QoS packet when the packet matches the selected option. The
options are:
•
Expedited Forwarding (EF)
: Has a single codepoint (DiffServ value). EF
minimizes delay and jitter and provides the highest level of aggregate quality of
service. Any traffic that exceeds the traffic profile (which is defined by local
policy) is discarded
[DiffServ EF]
.
•
Assured Forwarding (AF)
: Has four classes (AF1, AF2, AF3, AF4) and three
drop-precedences within each class (for a total of 12 code points). Excess AF
traffic is not delivered with as high a probability as the traffic “within profile,”
which means it may be demoted but not necessarily dropped
[DiffServ AF]
.
•
Class Selector
: Layer 2 Class of Service can be provided within the tag control
info (TCI) field of the Ethernet frame.
•
Default
: Defined Code Point Value (decimal), the decimal value is derived from
all 6 bits of the DiffServ field (000000).
The default is 0
Diffserv QoS Remark
Adds a remark to the QoS packet when the packet matches the selected option.
(The values are the described in Diffserv QoS Match.)
Rate Control
Quality of service is controlled by limiting bandwidth for individual traffic type.
IP
Rate control over the clients in the specified IP ranges. Single IP may be entered
by entering the same IP address in the
From
and
To
fields.
Group
Pre-defined group of network clients.
Percentage Rate
(%)
Available bandwidth (as a percentage) reserved for the particular service.
