Reference Guide for the Model RH340 Internet Access ISDN Router
B-2
Ordering ISDN Lines
Table B-1
summarizes the different switch types supported by your router and the related
information about the switch types (number of phone numbers and SPID numbers). The
information in this table refers to a “common” case and is recommended for such a case. However,
exceptions still exist. You can locate the provisioning information for the appropriate North
American switch type in the next sections.
Provisioning for Switches in North America
In most of North America, your telephone company can properly provision your ISDN line when
you provide it with an ISDN Ordering Code (IOC) or EZ-ISDN code. ISDN Ordering Codes
are a set of U.S. industry standards developed by the National ISDN Users Forum (NIUF).
Summarizing a specific set of ISDN features and services, IOCs contain all the configuration
information needed to provision an ISDN line quickly and easily. IOCs are accepted by most U.S.
telephone companies. The NETGEAR Model RH340 router supports the following ordering
codes:
IOC-S (basic voice and data service)
EZ-ISDN-1 (basic voice and data plus supplemental voice services)
Note that the supplemental voice services offered in EZ-ISDN (such as call waiting and call
forwarding) are not supported by the Model RH340 router.
