Connect cameras to camera ports of NVR and network extenders using Cat5 (or higher)
2.
Connect the NVSE network extenders in series, using their uplink ports. Where fibre optic
connection is needed use the SFP ports provided in the extenders.
3.
Connect NVR and network extenders using ports ETH-C or ETH-D of the NVR using Cat5 (or
higher)
4.
For longer distances between NVR/network extenders use fibreoptic cable and SFP ports
5.
Connect corporate network/PC to port ETH-A of the NVR.
6.
Connect an HDMI monitor, USB mouse, USB keyboard to the NVR, if desired
The HDMI monitor will show configuration menus of the NVR as well as live images.
Step 2: Apply Power
The recommended power-up sequence is as follows:
1.
Apply power to all NVSE Network Extender Units. This will power cameras using PoE,

Wait two minutes,
3.
Apply power to UPXA Appliance NVR, wait 5 minutes.
On first time power-up all cameras should be automatically detected and the NVR will start
recording automatically.
Step 3: Configure the NVR
As a minimum, the following configuration should be done once the system is running:
1.
Set User Names and Passwords
2.
Set Time and Date
3.
Configure the Network Settings of the NVR (IP address, Subnet, Gateway).
This can be done using a local monitor with USB mouse and USB keyboard connected to the NVR.
Left-Click on the Configuration button on the monitor display using a USB mouse to display the
configuration menus. If the NVR is connected to a DHCP network then browser software may be
used to view the configuration menus by entering the IP address of the NVR in to the browser.
