EXTERIOR FEATURES
Hitch
Installed on your King Aire is a class five, 15,000 pound car towing hitch, with a 1500 lb
maximum tongue weight. This is installed for towing passenger cars to be used when the vehicle
is parked. The wire connector installed with this hitch is a standard seven-pin connector.
IMPORTANT
Prior to towing, inspect all towing connections, including hitch mounting bolts for
unusual wear or corrosion, visually checking for deformation of the mounting flanges and
cracked welds on the hitch itself or any other sign of movement or fatigue in the hitch
assembly. Safe and satisfactory performance of the towing system depends in large part
on the type of towing equipment connected to the hitch receiver. The assembled length
of the drawbar/towing system used should be kept to a minimum. Newmar is not
responsible for damage or failure of the hitch receiver caused by the use of excessively
long drawbars or other styles of drawbars that create leverage loads on the hitch receiver
beyond its designed capabilities.
Exterior Sides
The sidewalls and end caps of your unit are constructed of smooth fiberglass, which is features an
automotive style “Clear-Coat / Color Coat” painted finish. Clean the exterior with a mild
cleanser and warm water. Use only soft cloths. Using stiff bristle brushes may cause scratches in
the painted fiberglass surface. Please note Newmar is not responsible for weathering/oxidation of
painted surfaces. For detailed cleaning and maintenance information, please refer to Chapter 10
of this guide, and the Paint Manufacturers information that is provided in the Literature Bag that
came with your unit.
Basement Storage Compartments
Storage compartments are located on the exterior sides of your unit.
These compartments provide additional space for your belongings
while you are traveling. They are lighted for ease of use day or night,
and feature power operated locks for an added measure of security.
There is a central locking button located on the passenger side armrest
that will lock and unlock all the basement doors simultaneously. They
can also be unlocked from the outside via the keyless entry system by
the entrance door.
