2.3 Installation
Cautions
Observe the following cautions to avoid damaging the WF1943B.
z
The unit is cooled by a fan. In event the fan does not function, switch off the power
and contact service. Continued use without the fan operating can lead to extensive
damage and service complexity.
z
Ventilation openings are located on the side and rear panels. Avoid obstructing the
openings and provide at least 10 cm clear space at the sides and back of the unit when
installing.
z
Do not use the unit vertically (with the rear panel downward).
Installation conditions
Observe the following ambient when installing and storing the equipment. Moisture condensation must
also be absent.
Temperature and humidity ranges
Guaranteed performance:
+5 to +35 C, 5 to 85 %RH
(no condensation at an absolute humidity of 1 to 25 g/m
3
)
Ambient storage conditions: -10 to +50 C, 5 to 95 %RH
(no condensation at an absolute humidity of 1 to 29 g/m
3
)
Pollution degree : 2
Avoid installing the equipment in the following types of locations.
z
In direct sunlight or near heat sources
z
Where subjected to dust, salt or metallic dust
z
Corrosive gas, steam or oily smoke
z
Flammable gas or vapors
z
Strong vibration
z
Strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields
z
Near pulse type noise sources
Also, when using, provide separation between the power cords and signal cables of the WF1943B and those
of other equipment. Operating error can occur if the power cords and signal cables are too close. Cable
routing requires particular attention when installing in a rack or other facility.
Panel and case cleaning
Use a soft cloth to wipe dust from the panel and case. If soiling is severe, moisten the cloth slightly with a
neutral detergent.
Do not use sprays, petroleum distillates or commercial cleaning cloths, which can deform or peel the finish.
