IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
This appliance can be used by children aged from
8 years and above and persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge if they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of
the appliance in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved. Children shall not play with the
appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall
not be made by children without supervision.
If this appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it
after use. The presence of water creates a hazard
even when the appliance is switched off.
*For additional protection, you should install
a residual current device (RCD) with a rated
residual operating current not exceeding 30mA,
in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. An
electrician will advise you of this.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly
qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Do not use this appliance near bathtubs,
showers, basins or other vessels
containing water.
• Always return the appliance after a malfunction, or if it has been
damaged in any manner. There are no user serviceable parts inside.
• Always ensure your hands are dry and your hair is free from excess
water before handling the plug or switching on the appliance.
• Always unplug the appliance from the power supply when not in use,
prior to use, when setting down and before cleaning.
• Always allow the appliance to cool before cleaning it and storing.
• Always allow the appliance to cool on a heat resistant surface.
• Never immerse electrical appliances in water or any liquid to protect
against electrical hazards.
• Never use this appliance for any purpose other than those described in
these instructions. Never use this appliance outdoors.
• Never wrap the mains lead around the appliance. Avoid twisting or
kinking it.
• Never carry or suspend the appliance by the mains lead.
• Never cover the appliance, or put it down on soft furnishings or bedding,
or against a wall or upright surface. Always place the appliance on a
surface that is heat resistant.
PREPARING FOR USE
Please read these instructions before operating and retain them for
future reference.
1. Remove all of the packaging and keep it safe until you are satisfied with
your product.
2. DO NOT plug your straightener in until you are ready to use it.
3. Ensure that your hair is completely dry and tangle free before using your
straightener.
HINTS AND TIPS
• To achieve the best results, your hair should be completely dry.
• Keep the strands of hair smooth whilst you work to avoid kinks and ridges.
• As with all straighteners that reach salon high temperatures, do not use
them too frequently in order to avoid damaging your hair.
USING YOUR HAIR STRAIGHTENER
IMPORTANT: THIS PRODUCT REACHES SALON HIGH TEMPERATURES
Do not leave on your hair for more than a few seconds as this may
damage your hair.
1. Plug your straightener into a suitable mains supply. There is no need to
preheat your straightener. Always place your straightener on a solid, flat,
stable, heat resistant surface. Do not place your straightener on a soft or
uneven surface such as a carpet, bedding or rug, and never cover your
straightener. The plates reach high temperatures very quickly. As with all
products that reach salon high temperatures, do not use your straightener
too frequently to avoid damaging your hair.
2. Switch your straightener on by pressing the on/off switch. The display will
show 180ºC as your straightener heats up.
3. Refering to the table, select the most suitable heat setting for your hair
type using the temperature increase/decrease buttons. The display will
flash the selected temperature when heating up. When the temperature
is reached, the display will stop flashing.

The hair types in the table are for guidance only and some experimentation
will be needed to discover the best setting for your hair type.
4. Separate a section of hair approximately 5cm in width and smooth it out
with a brush.
5. Place the chosen section of hair between the plates of your straightener
and close the plates. Take care not to touch the plates which are very hot
with your fingertips.
6. Hold the straightener in place until the section of hair is fully heated. This
will be almost instantaneous.
7. Once your hair is heated, carefully slide the plates in one smooth movement
all the way down to the ends of your hair whilst holding it taut.
8. Keep the section of hair smooth whilst you work in order to avoid ridges
and kinks.
9. Switch off your straightener by pressing and holding the on/off button until
the display goes out then unplug it from the supply socket. Always allow
your straightener to completely cool down before storing.
AUTO SHUT OFF
Your straightener is fitted with a safety auto shut off feature and after
approximately 1 hour it will automatically switch itself off. To restart it, switch
it off then back on again using the on/off switch. You should not rely on
the Auto Shut Off feature for switching off after use, always switch off your
straightener using the on/off switch and unplug it from the supply socket.
• Never place the appliance on unprotected polished surfaces.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when switched on.
• Never drop the appliance on to a hard surface.
*Currently, the fitting in a bathroom of an electrical socket for, or capable of, operating
the appliance, is not permitted in the UK. Nevertheless, European standards require us
to include this warning in these instructions.
