Do not allow the power cord to hang over sharp edges, and keep it away from hot objects and naked flames.
•
Never use the appliance if the power cord or plug show any signs of damage, if the appliance has fallen on the
ground or in the event of any other form of damage. In such cases, take the appliance to a qualified person for
inspection and, if necessary, have it repaired.
•
Never allow unsupervised children to use electrical household appliances. Children are unable to assess the
dangers associated with the incorrect use of electrical appliances.
•
Children who are close to the appliance or who are using it must always be kept under adult supervision.
•
Never leave the appliance unattended whilst it is in use.
•
The kettle in intended for boiling water only. Do not use for other fluids or solutions.
•
Only pick up the appliance by its handle, certain parts of the appliance become hot during use. You may suffer
a serious burn if you touch hot parts of the appliance.
•
Pay attention to steam and hot water during use.
OPERATION
This cordless kettle quickly brings 1.7 litre of water to a boil. The kettle is equipped with an indicator lamp, a thermostat
and a boil-dry protection.
First time use:
•
Remove all packaging from the appliance.
•
Clean the appliance according the chapter: 'Cleaning and Maintenance'.
•
First boil a full jug of water in accordance with the procedure in ‘Using the appliance’, in order to clean the jug.
•
Dispose of the boiled water. If you then refill the kettle with water, the boil-dry protection cools down and the
kettle is again ready for normal use.
•
Continue with the procedure in ‘Using the appliance’.
Using the appliance:
•
Use the kettle only with the supplied base.
•
Remove the kettle from its base, to avoid spilling water on the base during filling.
•
Open the lid by pressing the button on the handle and keeping it pressed down.
•
Fill the kettle between the minimum and maximum mark. Too little water will result in the kettle switching off
prematurely, and too much water may result in the kettle boiling over.
•
Close the lid.
•
Place the jug on the base.
•
Insert the plug into the mains power socket.
•
Switch the appliance on by pressing the on/off switch under the handle downwards. The indicator lamp in the
on/off switch will light. The kettle will switch off automatically as soon as the water boils.
•
If desired, boil the water one more time. Wait for at least 30 seconds, however, after the kettle has switched off
automatically.
•
Pour the water slowly, so that any limescale particles remain behind on the limescale filter in the pouring
opening. If the kettle is accidentally switched on whilst empty, the boil-dry protection will automatically switch it
off again.
•
Remove the plug from the mains power socket

If the kettle is filled above the maximum level, boiling water may splash out
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Clean after every use the appliance and each seperate part.
•
Warning:
Before cleaning the appliance, always switch it off, unplug it from the electricity supply and allow it to
cool down completely.
•
Do not clean the appliance with an aggressive or abrasive cleaner or with a sharp object, such as a hard brush
or a knife.
•
Clean the exterior of the jug with a damp cloth.
•
Always clean the base with a dry cloth.
•
Take the limescale filter out of the pouring opening.
•
Rinse it under running water.
•
Reinsert the rinsed limescale filter in the pouring opening.
Never immerse the kettle in water or any other liquid and the kettle must
not
be cleaned in the dishwasher.
Please note!
Regularly descale the appliance. Depending on the hardness of the water, scale deposits may become
attached to the inside of the appliance. The harder the water, the more often it is necessary to descale the appliance.
