The 4-fold dimmer switch, EnOcean
®
(72-510) provides four contacts. These are grouped into two channels (channel A and channel B), each containing two contacts (state O and state I). The contacts are referred to as AO,
AI, BO and BI.
energy bows
Multiple radio telegrams with the state of all four contacts and the unique device identification are transmitted whenever the energy bow is pushed or released together with one of the four contacts. This makes it possible to
distinguish between a short push and a push and hold action (long press) to control dimmers or blinds seamlessly. The exact encoding of the radio telegram is defined by the operating mode (normal mode or secure mode) and
the EnOcean
®
encoding profile (EEP). Always ensure that the Niko dimmer switch and the EnOcean receiver use the same EnOcean Encoding Profile (EEP). The 4-fold dimmer switch, EnOcean
®
has three modes: the normal
mode (default), the secure mode and the configuration mode. Up to four button combinations can be configured.
The 4-fold dimmer switch, EnOcean
®
can be paired with one or more EnOcean
®
868 MHz receivers in different ways:
1. via a special button sequence (SBC) on the Niko dimmer switch
2. via a two-way near field communication (NFC) device and related software application from the receiver vendor
3. via a QR-code scan and related software application from the receiver vendor
For each of the three pairing options, follow the procedure described in the selected EnOcean
®
receiver’s manual. The receiver defines which push button of the Niko dimmer switch needs to be pushed to configure the desired
action (switch on / off the light, dim up / down, move shutters, open / close door lock …).
The Niko dimmer switch can also be paired with Niko DALI presence detectors with an EnOcean
®
interface (350-41680, 350-41780 and 350-41781). Use the universal IR remote control for smartphone (350-41936) and
the app Niko Detector Tool to pair these Niko detectors with one or more EnOcean
®
dimmer switches.
