Face-Priority
•
When
Face priority
is selected for
AF area mode
, the setting will automatically switch to
Auto
if
no face is recognized when the shutter-release button is pressed halfway.
•
If no face is recognized when the shutter-release button is pressed halfway in
Portrait
or
Night
portrait
scene mode, the camera will focus on the subject in the center focus area.
•
The camera may be unable to detect faces in the following situations:
- When faces are partially hidden by sunglasses or other obstructions
- When faces take up too much or too little of the frame
- When the subject is not looking directly at the camera
•
The camera’s ability to detect faces depends on a variety of factors, including whether or not the
subject is facing the camera.
•
In some rare cases shooting subjects with which autofocus may not perform as expected (
25),
the subject may not be in focus despite the fact that the focus area glows green. Should this occur,
switch to
A
(auto) mode or change the
AF area mode
setting to
Manual
or
Center
in high-
sensitivity shooting,

modes, refocus on another subject positioned at the same distance
from the camera as the actual portrait subject, and use focus lock (

Full-time AF
Camera adjusts focus continuously until shutter-release button is pressed halfway.
Use with moving subjects.
