Device Registration: COOLPIX990/COOLPIX880
Windows 2000 Professional
The following explanation uses COOLPIX990 as an example.
After installing Nikon Capture 3 and restart-
ing the computer, connect your camera to the
computer using a USB cable and turn the cam-
era on. The camera will be registered auto-
matically.
Follow the instructions below to check that the camera has been correctly registered with the
system.
Step 1
Right-click the
My Computer
icon on the
desktop and select
Properties
from the menu
that appears. The
System Properties
dialog
will be displayed. Open the Hardware tab and
click the
Device Manager
button in the De-
vice Manager area.
Logging On
Log on as Administrator to register the camera.
Before Connecting the Camera
Be sure to install Nikon Capture 3 before connecting your camera to the computer.
Step 2
After confirming that
Imaging devices
is
listed in the Device Manager dialog, click the
plus sign (
+
) to its left.
