detects a dog or cat face (pet portrait auto release).

: When the camera detects a dog or cat face, the camera automatically
releases the shutter.

: The camera does not release the shutter automatically, even if a dog or cat
face is detected. Press the shutter-release button. The camera also detects
human faces when

after 5 bursts have been taken.

Shooting is also possible by pressing the shutter-release button, regardless of the
Pet portrait auto release
setting.

Focus Area
•
When the camera detects a face, the face is
displayed inside a yellow border. When the
camera acquires focus on a face displayed inside a
double border (focus area), the double border
changes to green. If no faces are detected, the
camera focuses on the subject in the center of the
frame.
•
Under some shooting conditions, the pet face
may not be detected and other subjects may be
displayed inside a border.
