BATTERY INSTALLATION AND BATTERY TYPE SETTING (WET OR GEL)
Set the electronic board of the machine and of the battery charger (if equipped) according to the type of batteries installed (WET or
GEL) according to the following procedure:
Machine Setting
1.
Turn the ignition key (80) to “I” and pay attention to the following in the very first seconds of machine operation:
•
If the green LED (81a) is flashing, the machine is set to GEL.
•
If the red LED (81c) is flashing, the machine is set to WET.
2. If the setting is to be changed, perform the following procedure.
3. Turn off the machine by turning the ignition key (80) to “0”.
4. Press and hold the push-buttons (71) and (73) at the same time, then turn the ignition key (80) to “I”.
5. Release the push-buttons (71) and (73) at least 8 seconds after starting the machine.
6. Within 3 seconds, press the push-button (73) again for a few seconds and check that the warning light for the required setting
is flashing (as shown in step 1).
Battery Charger Setting (for machines with on-board battery charger)
7. Remove the battery charger data inspection window screws (A, Fig. 1).
8. Remove the window (B).
9. Turn the battery charger selector (C) to WET position for lead batteries, or to GEL position for gel batteries.
10. Install the window (B) and tighten the screws (A).
Battery Installation
11. Disconnect the battery connector (12).
12. Open the cover (22) and check that the recovery water tank (21) is empty, otherwise empty it with the drain hose (16).
13. Carefully lift the tank (40).
14. The machine is supplied with cables suitable to install 2 12 V batteries. Carefully lift the batteries up to the compartment, then
install them correctly.
15. Route and install the battery cable as shown in the diagram (56), then carefully tighten the nut on each battery terminal.
16. Place the protection cap on each terminal, then connect the battery connector (12).
Battery Charging
17. Fully charge the batteries (see the procedure in Maintenance chapter).
