■
Do not tamper with the accessories
■
Do not use the accessories if they are damaged
■
Do not try to repair any damaged accessory.
■
Do not try to connect the EXA accessories to other types of accessories.
■
Do not use in presence of potentially-explosive gases, not allowed by the marking (that is to say, IIC group gas).
■
Keep the accessories (in particular the terminals made of elastomeric material such as rubber and silicone) away
from heat sources, ultraviolet rays and environments with a relative humidity lower than 40%, both during storage
and during normal use.
Marking
Depending on the application, each EXA accessory can be marked as follows:
II 2 G Ex h IIB Tx Gb or
II 2 D Ex h IIIC Tx C Db or
II 2 G Ex h IIB Tx Gb
II 2 D Ex h IIIC Tx C Db
Periodic checks
If the outcome of the following checks is negative, do not use the accessories and contact Nilfisk service centre.
■
Visually check the conditions of the accessories
■
Using an ohmmeter, check that, between the metal fitting connected to the end accessory and the machine receptacle, the
electric resistance is lower than 10
8
Ω (points A and B in fig. 5).
■
If the terminals are black, perform the measurement describe above including the terminal and checking its compliance
with the same electric resistance limit.
Exclusion of liability
All EXA accessories are certified and do not have an independent function, thus are classified as components.
They can be used only with Nilfisk industrial vacuum cleaners or with other equipment from the same manufacturer, for their
intended use, already equipped with Ex marking and related declaration of conformity, in compliance with the instruction
indicated in their use and maintenance manual and in those of the equipment to which they are connected.
This correct coupling guarantees full compliance with the ATEX Directive without requiring further checks and/or certifications.
If necessary, contact Nilfisk service centre only.
