Before each work shift
Check that all warning and danger plates are fixed and
legible. Replace them if they are damaged or incomplete.
Check that the waste container is empty.
Empty it if this is not the case.
Turn the vacuum on and check the filter efficiency, on
gauge “1”.
If the pointer is in the red area, clean the filter or check the
pipes.
Every 200 hours service (monthly)
Check the air tightness of the vacuum. There must be no
leaks.
Check the condition of the suction hose and accessories.
They must not be torn, slit or broken since this would lower
the suction efficiency.
Check that the powering cable has not been damaged,
torn or crushed. If this is the case, it should be immediately
replaced in strict compliance with the instructions.
Check the condition of the primary filter. It must be
undamaged, i.e. there must be no tears, holes or other
damage.
Change the filter if this is the case.
Every 2000 hours service (yearly)
Check the condition of the suction unit.
Have the vacuum completely overhauled by the
manufacturer or by an authorized after-sales service
centre.
How to carry out the required
inspections
The following descriptions will show the user how to carry
out the required inspections.
Replacing the primary filter
When replacing the primary filter, work outdoors if
possible. The old filter must be disposed of in a special
plastic bag.
Loosen the clamp fixing the filter assembly on the
machine.
Remove suction pipe “1” from the lower spigot.
If the filter assembly is very heavy, remove the top cover
of the filter, and lift the filter assembly from the machine by
means of the 2 handles.
Unscrew the clamp that locks the filter on the bearing cage
and remove it from the filter.
Overturn the filter, exposing plastic strip“2”.
Place the filter in a plastic bag “3”, cut the plastic strips and
detach the cage from the filter.
Close the plastic bag containing the filter.
If this is soiled with toxic or dangerous dust, do not throw
it away. Hand it over to the authorities that are authorized
to dispose of such waste.
Replace the primary filter and the absolute filter with
particular care, above all use a P3-type mask.
Obtain a filter with a identical characteristics as the
previously one and proceed in the following way (fig. 17):
– fit the filter catch and retention ring of the old filter on the
new one;
– insert cage “4” and fix it to the filter by means of plastic
strips “2” at the bottom of the filter itself;
– mount the filter rod in the filter shaker system and
tighten the bolt;
– fix the top cover of the filter assembly;
– fit the filter assembly back into the machine;
– fit the suction pipe “1” back into position;
– fix the clamp holding the filter assembly on the
machine.
ATTENTION!
When the vacuum has been used on
materials that are a hazard to the operator’s
health, maintenance staff must wear
suitable personal protection equipment.
ATTENTION!
Filter replacement is an important operation.
The filter must be replaced with one of
identical characteristics, exposed filtering
area and category. Failure to comply with
these regulations could jeopardize the
correct operation of the vacuum.
