1 // GENERAL
In the first months after birth, breast milk is the best food your baby can get. The composition is perfectly matched to
the needs of your baby and strengthens the immune system.
Every woman gets a different feeling when expressing milk. For this reason, the nip
®
first moments breast pump has
two different efficiency levels that regulate the pump performance and thus make expression as comfortable as pos-
sible. The breast pump is moreover part of the nip
®
first moments All-in-One system which allows you to express the
milk directly into the bottle and/or the breast milk container. For more information, please refer to point 8 “Compatibility”.
We ask you to read the usage instructions carefully and to store them in a safe location for later use.
2 // IMPORTANT INFORMATION: BEFORE FIRST USE
Before first use, disassemble the nip
®
first moments breast pump into all individual parts. Clean and disinfect the
breast pump and the accessories before using them for the first time.
3 // DEVICE DESCRIPTION AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
3.1 Intended use
The nip
®
first moments breast pump serves the expression of breast milk.
Only use nip
®
first moments original accessories as this is the only way to ensure proper and fault-free functioning
of the pump. Keep all components not in use out of the reach of children. Not a toy – individual parts pose a choking
hazard.
3.2 Description
The nip
®
first moments breast pump is a manually operated milk pump with the following advantages:
• Works without electric power
• Easy cleaning as the pump can be disassembled into all individual parts
• Soft silicone cushion for a pleasant feeling during expression
• Collection of expressed breast milk
3.3 Potential discomfort or other symptoms
In case of illness of the breast (inflammation, open wounds) or unexpected reactions, only use the nip
®
first moments
breast pump after consultation with your breastfeeding counsellor, midwife or your physician.
If the breast milk is used for a premature baby, it is vital to observe the instructions of your physician.
3.4 Hygiene
The handling of breast milk requires a high level of hygiene to ensure healthy development of your child. Please ob-
serve point 5 “Cleaning and disinfection”. The full suction performance can only be achieved with a carefully cleaned
milk pump. Remove any body jewellery worn at the breast (e.g. piercings) as well as oil-based and fatty ointments
and clean the breast with clear water before use.
The breast pump is only intended for use by a female user.
