spray gun, but always make sure that the manufacturer has intended them to
be used with a spray gun .
7.2 Thinning
Always disconnect the spray gun from the power source before filling
the fluid tank.
Most paints are supplied in a form suitable for application with a brush. They
need to be thinned in order to be used with a spray gun . The viscosity measuring
cup will help you to determine the relevant degree of paint dilution. To do so,
completely fill the viscosity measuring cup with paint and measure the time it
takes to empty the measuring cup. Below you can find a list of recommended
times for various types of fluids to be sprayed:
•
Plastic or latex based paint 24 - 28 seconds
• Water based paint
20 - 25 seconds
• Primer
24 - 28 seconds
• Lacquer
20 - 25 seconds
• Oil based paint
18 - 22 seconds
•
Enamel
18 - 22 seconds
• Aluminium based paint
22 - 25 seconds
• Chassis paint
25 - 35 seconds
•
Wood impregnation agent 28 - 35 seconds
•
Wood preservation agent
No need to thin
• Wood stain
No need to thin
If emptying the viscosity measuring cup takes more time than recommended, the
fluid needs to be thinned further.
Add a small amount of thinner and repeat the viscosity test until suitable viscosity
is obtained. Some fluids may contain small particles and lumps of materials which
need to be strained before the tank is filled with the fluid.
7.3 Assembly/disassembly
1 . Connect one end of the air hose (1) to the air outlet of the compressor
(13) by pushing it in and turning it right towards the symbol of a closed
padlock (as shown in the figure below).
2 . Connect the other end of the air hose (1) to the hole on the gun by means
of pushing it in (as shown in the figure below).
3 . To disassemble, disconnect one end of the air line (1) from the gun and
disconnect the other end from the diaphragm compressor by turning it
counterclockwise towards the open padlock symbol .
