Screened Transfer to an Extension (cont’d)
Notes
(cont’d):
The Delay (rings or seconds) before Redirect Transfer option for the
Call Routing Mailbox determines the number of times that an extension
rings before the Voice Mail will retrieve the call. To customize this
option for the Call Routing Mailbox:
1. Select Mailbox Options on the Customize menu.
2. Select Edit on the Mailbox Options drop-down menu.
3. In the Mailbox Range dialog box:
a. Enter the number for your lowest-numbered Call Routing Mail-
box in the Start Number box.
b. Enter the number for your highest-numbered Call Routing Mail-
box in the End Number box.
c. Under the heading “Mailbox Types”, make sure that only the
Call Routing check box is checked.
d. Click the OK button.
4. From the Mailbox Options dialog box for your first Call Routing
Mailbox, click the Call Handling tab.
5. In the box for Delay (ring or seconds) before Redirect Transfer:
Enter the value you prefer.
6. Click the
button.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 above, until you have reached the Mailbox
Options dialog box for the last Call Routing Mailbox where you
want to change the value of this option.
8. Click the
button to save your selections and return
to the CTL Logo window.
If the caller dials an invalid mailbox number, the Voice Mail will
reroute the call by using the Answering Schedule Table assigned to the
port that is handling the caller’s trunk.
If a greeting for a Guest or Subscriber Mailbox is recorded, the Voice
Mail will not play the extension status message.
Q
If the greeting is on and the Voice Mail is set to Auto Attendant Do
Not Disturb, the Voice Mail will play the greeting.
Q
But if the Automated Attendant greeting is off, the Voice Mail will
try to transfer the call. If the call does not go through, the Voice
Mail will play the greeting. After the greeting plays, the caller can
leave a message (if desired) and then use the options prompted by
the Voice Mail.
If the majority of the extensions in your Voice Mail system require
screened transfers but you would like a few selected extensions to be
transferred unscreened to an ACD Pilot Number or to a phone system
extension that will use Call Forwarding, override the Screened Transfer
option by checking (selecting) Forced Unscreened Transfer in the
affected Subscriber Mailboxes. (For more information about Forced
Unscreened Transfers, see Subscriber Mailbox on page 285 of the Cus-
tomizing Mailbox Options section.)
