External Hold Retrieval Strings
The External Hold Retrieval Strings option includes RNA and Busy.
RNA
RNA is the string of codes that the Voice Mail will dial to retrieve from Hold a screened
External Transfer that has rung an extension without receiving an answer
Busy
Busy is the string of codes that the Voice Mail will dial to retrieve from Hold a screened Exter-
nal Transfer that has rung a busy extension.
Availability:
All phone systems
Default:
Depends on the telephone system installed.
Entries:
None
Up to 20 digits including the codes below.
Enter the string used by your phone system to remove a call from Hold.
F - Flash
W - Wait for dial tone
S - Wait for any type of sound
P - Pause (After a 2 sec pause, the Voice Mail dials the next digit.)
M - Monitored pause (After a 2 sec pause, the Voice Mail dials the next
digit if no busy/reorder. Otherwise, Voice Mail ends the call.)
A - Analyzed pause (After a 4 sec pause, the Voice Mail dials the next
digit if no busy/reorder. Otherwise, Voice Mail ends the call.)
$ - Escape (Not currently supported. Only applies to Mitel or
Norstar phone systems, using Dialogic D42SX or NS cards.)
