Call Pickup
Call Pickup is the string of codes that the Voice Mail will dial to transfer the Automated Atten-
dant caller from a non-modem port to a modem port, so that the caller will be able to use the
internal modem. The Voice Mail also dials this string to transfer the Automated Attendant
caller from a non-FAX port to a FAX port, so that the caller can use the FAX-On-Demand
feature. This string is based on the Call Pickup string in the phone system. For example, if the
Call Pickup string is “6”, enter “W6” or “S6” for Call Pickup.
Ringdown
Ringdown is a string of codes that the Voice Mail will dial to force an extension to ring. This
string must match the programmed RD string in the telephone system. The Ringdown string
affects the operation of any feature that uses Automated Attendant transfers.

Enter the string used by your phone system to remove a call from Hold.
F - Flash
W - Wait for dial tone
S - Wait for any type of sound
P - Pause (After a 2 sec pause, the Voice Mail dials the next digit.)
M - Monitored pause (After a 2 sec pause, the Voice Mail dials the next
digit if no busy/reorder. Otherwise, Voice Mail ends the call.)
A - Analyzed pause (After a 4 sec pause, the Voice Mail dials the next
digit if no busy/reorder. Otherwise, Voice Mail ends the call.)
$ - Escape (Not currently supported. Only applies to Mitel or
Norstar phone systems, using Dialogic D42SX or NS cards.)
