Recordi ng Mailbox Names
Description
Using a System Administrator Mailbox, you can record a name a mailbox. The Voice Mail plays
the name in voice prompts that would otherwise play the mailbox (or corresponding extension)
number. For example: Suppose you record the name “Joe Smith” for Subscriber Mailbox 103. If an
Automated Attendant transfer to extension 103 is incomplete because the extension is busy, the
Voice Mail says, Joe Smith is busy. instead of, Extension 103 is busy.
To record, listen to, or erase a Mailbox Name:

Call System Administrator Mailbox:
From any extension:
— Get intercom dial tone + Dial the Voice Mail master ext If requested, dial Sys
Admin Mailbox If requested, dial security code.
From outside, using the Voice Mail:
— Dial Auto Attendant Wait for gr Press # + Dial Sys Admin Mailbox
If requested, dial security code.

All versions of the NT Voice Mail.
Notes:
• You cannot record a name for a Future Delivery or Distribution Mailbox.
• The name can be up to 10 seconds long. You should record a unique name for
each mailbox.
• the Voice Mail also plays the mailbox name for the Directory Dialing feature.

• A mailbox user can call their mailbox and press
RN
to record a mailbox name.
The Voice Mail uses whatever name was most recently recorded.
