Overridi ng the Answering Schedule
Description
Using a System Administrator Mailbox, you can override the answering schedule that is in effect
for all ports and/or trunks. This means that you can re-route incoming calls to any Call Routing,
Message Center, Announcement, Subscriber, Directory Dialing, or Interactive Mailbox you choose.
The “override mailbox” answers calls on all ports until you turn Answering Schedule Override off.
For example, if the company must close due to bad weather, you can re-route calls to an Announce-
ment Mailbox that plays, Our offices are closed due to the inclement weather. Please call again
tomorrow. For more information on answering schedules, see page 105.
To work with Answering Schedule Override:
1.
Call System Administrator Mailbox:
From any extension:
— Get intercom dial tone + Dial Voice Mail master ext If requested, dial Sys Admin
Mailbox If requested, dial security code.
From outside, using the Voice Mail:
— Dial Auto Attendant Wait for gr Press # + Dial Sys Admin Mailbox
If requested, dial security code.

Availability:
All versions of the NT Voice Mail.
Notes:
An intertenant System Administrator Mailbox lets you override the answer-
ing schedule for any tenant. An intratenant System Administrator Mailbox
lets you override the answering schedule only for the tenant associated with
the System Administrator Mailbox.
Default:
Answering Schedule Override is off. There is no override mailbox.
Notes:
• To convert a Subscriber Mailbox into a System Administrator Mailbox, use
Customize

• The name can be up to 10 seconds long. You should record a unique name for
each mailbox.
• To create/customize the type of override mailbox you want, use page 168.
• To record the message for the override mailbox, use Overriding the Answering
