Step 2: Assign Extensions to the Voice Mail Ports
A Voice Mail extension is physically connected to a Voice Mail port. For certain features to work
properly, you must assign a Voice Mail extension to each port.
The table below lists the Voice Mail ports that you may currently have installed in your system.
You can use this table as a worksheet for assigning extensions to ports: In the Extension Number
column next to each port number, fill in the number of the extension that you plan to assign to the
port.
To assign an extension to a port:
1.
Click Customize on the menu bar of theVoice Mail Main Screen.
2.
Select Port Options on the Customize menu.
3.
On the General tab for each port:
Enter in the Extension field the number of the extension that you are assigning to the port.
4.
Click the Next button to move on to the extension assignment for the next port.
5.
When you have finished your extension assignments for all your Voice Mail ports, click the
OK button to save your assignments.
