Chapter 5: Maintenance
Software Program for NT Service
To install the NT service software:
1.
If the Setup menu is not displayed:
Click the
button, and select Run.
On the Run dialog box: Enter e:\setup in the Open box, and click the
button.
2.
Select VoiceSupport NT Service on the Setup menu, and click the
button.
3.
Click the
button on the Welcome window to continue.
4.
Click the Yes button on the Software License Agreement window to continue.
5.
On the Select Components window:
Select the Dialogic radio button. Click the
button.
6.
If you have a fax card and want to use the Voice Mail fax features:
Check the Fax Feature check box.
The check will cause the Voice Mail to enable the fax features after you have installed the fax
driver software, as explained previously in Installing Fax Board Driver Software on page 522.
The next screen will ask you to check off what was previous installed.
7.
On the Select Components window with the check list:
Check each item listed on the window, and click the
button.
The Setup program will check to verify that you have installed all of the necessary programs
before letting you proceed with the installation.
8.
On the Select Languages window:
Select the first language from the First language scroll-down list.
Select the second language from the Second language scroll-down list.
Click the
button.
Note that Mnemonic prompts say the letters for an action and Numeric prompts say the corre-
sponding numbers for the action. For example: For a Record and Send, the Mnemonic prompt
says R S and the Numeric prompt says 7 7.
9.
On the Select VM Disks window:
For each disk listed, select the letter of the drive you want to use from the scroll list, or select
None if you don’t want to use one of the four listed disks.
The Voice Mail can use up to 4 hard disks to store Voice Mail messages. For Second: Select
D: drive from the scroll-down list if the first hard drive was partitioned into both a C: drive and
a D: drive as explained in Reformatting Remaining Unused Disk Space, page 541.
10. On the Select domain and user group window:
The Domain box contains the name of the Windows NT security domain that the Voice Mail
system will use to authenticate users and allow access to its configuration database by using the
Configuration GUI program.
Q
If the local security database is to be used, enter the computer name as shown in the Con-
trol Panel window > Network icon > Identification tab.
Q
If the Voice Mail system is connected to a LAN where a Windows NT domain controller is
used for security, enter the name of the domain to which the Voice Mail system belongs.
Q
The User group is the name of a group of user accounts. Each account in the group will be
allowed to run the Voice Mail Configuration GUI and connect to the Voice Mail Service
program. Do not use the Administrators group. CTL uses VmServiceGroup for the name
of the User group.
Q
If local security is being used, this should be a group created in the local accounts database
with the User Manager program. In this case, you might enter VOICESUPPORT in the
Domain box. (VOICESUPPORT is the name of the computer assigned previously in the
Installing the NT Server section.)
Q
If domain security is being used, this name identifies the group created in the Domain
Controller’s accounts database, using the User Manager for the Domains program on the
Domain Controller computer.
