without any particular problem, managing the
primary combustion air through the removable
handle, while secondary and tertiary air are
predetermined mechanically.
10 OPERATION MODES AND FUNCTIONS
Unica works with 3 power levels, indicated by 3
black squares below room temperature.
Once room temperature has been reached as per
remote control settings, the device will behave as
follows.
In wood mode, AUTO mode is ignored; users can
still activate and deactivate it by remote control
but nothing will change in the operation of the
wood. Such change in settings will be used when
starting the product in pellet mode.
10.1 SAVING MODE
During operation, the device works with the aim of
reaching room temperature as per settings; when
this condition is fulfilled, the power is reduced until
switching to ECONOMY mode, a stage where fuel
consumption is minimum, actually lower than the
P1 HOLD MODE.
10.2 COMFORT CLIMA
This function remains active if you choose to
switch to pellets once the wood is finished, in
accordance with what explained in paragraph
9.3. If room temperature is higher than the set
temperature, Unica will switch to ECO STOP status
automatically, waiting for the room temperature
to decrease before restarting. In wood mode, this
option is inactive.
10.3 POWERFUL
Function ignored when operating in wood mode.
10.4 VENTILATION MANAGEMENT
This function takes over the ventilation
management of the same function in pellet mode,
with the only difference that it does not have 7
power levels, but 3, plus PS, which automatically
follows the power set via remote control. For
further information, see the same paragraph in
the pellet mode manual.
11 MENU FUNCTIONS

11.1 PROGRAMMABLE THERMOSTAT
See the corresponding paragraph in the PELLET
manual.
Remember that the chronothermostat can be
used to switch on the product where wood has
already been loaded confirmed via the remote
control, as explained in paragraph 9.7.
Actually, the operating procedure is always the
same, the only difference is that for the first start
programmed, it has wood and then switches the
machine to "wood operation", after which Unica
will behave like a smart wood stove.
11.2 PELLETS/AIR RATIO AND WOOD VALVE
The management menu for adjusting the amount
of combustion air and pellets for the Unica
model is also equipped with a function for the
management of combustion air for wood (see the
menu item "
WOOD AIR VALVE
").
This function allows you to act on the automatic
management valve to allow more or less
combustion air to pass, to adjust the flame
according to your personal preferences:
•
less air - slow flame and complete gasification;
•
more air - brighter flame, without gasification.
Of course, the more air given to the wood, the
faster it will burn, so after experimenting a bit, use
the mode that best suits the type of wood to be
burned
and the type of flame you prefer to see.
