Let’s use the following agricultural formula to calculate the fertilizer fl ow which
will be spread:

EXAMPLE

Let’s take the following example to demonstrate the calculation: We need to spread

280 Kg of fertilizer per hectare, at a width of 10 m, and the tractor is moving at

a speed of 8 Km/hour.

Here is the informations:

 Spreading rate = 280 Kg/ha.

 Operating width = 10 m.



Tractor speed = 8 Km/hr.

THE FOLLOWING IS THE CALCULATION:

Flow =   280

Kg/h

 X 10

m

 X 8

km/hr

 = 37 Kg/min.

600

So, we discovered, it is necessary to spread 37 Kg of fertilizer per minute to

achieve this. Now, only we need to defi ne what position it is necessary to place

the scale so that the valve is open enough to spread 37 Kg/min.

fl ow =

             spreading rate (Kg/ha) x operating width (m) x tractor operating speed (Km/h)

600

This test is simple; just perform the following described procedure:

1.  Load the machine with the product for spreading.

2. Remove

pendulum

A (fi gura 8).

3.  Place a recipient for storing the product from the outlet (fi gura 8).

4. Move

lever

D and completely close the valve (fi gura 8).

5.  Manually turn the adjuster C (fi gure 9) until the midpoint of the scale.

6.  Turn on the machine (540 rpm in the power take-off).

7. Move

lever

D (fi gure 8), until the valve is completely open. Register the weight

of the product after 1 minute of fl ow into the recipient.

8.  Redo the test, changing the scale position until achieving 37 Kg/min;

Increasing the scale to increase the fl ow and or decreasing it.

9.  Once the adjustment is defi ned, reinsert the pendulum again.

CMT.: Register the required scale position, you may need the same setting for
future spreadings.
