Note:
See the following illustrations to see the correct positioning for connecting to category I and
II tractors.
In order to connect the SDN-170A to category II tractors, it is necessary to use coupling bushings
type C.
It is possible to invert the position of the connecting pin, as shown in figures 4 and 5. Remove
screws D to dissemble the connecting pin.

Depending on the tractor model being used, you may need to shorter the driveshaft. This occurs due to
the variation in the distance between the power take-off and the machine actuation axle, among
different tractor models.
If this is necessary, connect the machine to the tractor properly and the power take-off must be
disconnected, then proceed as follows:
- Separate the two parts of the driveshaft;
- Connect the tubular part (female) to the mower axle and the solid part (male) to the tractor power
take-off;
- Place the two parts (male and female) side-by-side. Check if there is any play, at least 25 mm on both
ends of the driveshaft. If there is not enough play, then mark the points for cutting the driveshaft;
- Remove the driveshaft from the machine and the tractor and cut both ends;
- Assemble both parts of the driveshaft. See if the brackets are aligned;
- Connect the tubular part (female) to machine axle and the solid part (male) to the tractor power take-
off.
