4.3.2 Horizontal setup
Before entering the horizontal setup mode the sensor must be aimed correctly. Make sure
that the geometrical parameters of the measurement setup are set correctly. Parameter
43 is set to maximum measurement distance (meters) and parameter 32 (Speed
geometry) is perpendicular distance component (in decimeters) of the parameter 43.
Parameter 12 is set to minimum detection distance (centimeters).
The calibration mode is activated with command [ESC]U[CR].
Output
Comment
Calibration for horizontal measurement (Y/N)?
Horizontal mode if value in parameter 43
is nonzero, answer “Y”
Use maximum measurement distance 40 m (Trigger
Window End for multiple lanes)(Y/N)?
Value of parameter 43, answer “Y” if
correct.
Use 300 cm as shortest detection distance for multiple
lanes (Y/N)?
Value of parameter 12, answer “Y” if
correct
Use (SpeedGeometry) 650 cm as perpendicular part
of the max measurement distance (Y/N)?
Value of parameter 32, answer “Y” if
correct.
Horizontal setup
parameter 43 is nonzero
Calibration of two laser beams for approaching
vehicles
bit 5 of Control Byte 1 is cleared
Wait until 10 vehicles are detected (ESC to exit)
10 vehicles are monitored
