HOW TO USE THE FITNESS TEST WORKOUT

The fitness test workout measures your approximate

fitness age. Your fitness age is the average age of

someone at your fitness level.

For the most accurate results, use the fitness test

workout when you are not feeling tired, when you have

not eaten for at least two hours, and when you have not

exercised for at least 24 hours. Follow the steps below

to use the workout.

1. Put on the chest pulse sensor.

You must grip the hand grip pulse sensor or wear

the optional chest pulse sensor to use the fitness

test workout.

For the most accurate results, wear

the optional chest pulse sensor.

See page 22 for

information on the optional chest pulse sensor.

Note: If you use the handgrip pulse sensor and the

optional chest pulse sensor at the same time, the

display will not show your heart rate accurately.

2. Insert the key into the console.

See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 14.

3. Select the fitness test workout.

To select the fitness test workout, press either of

the Set Gender buttons.

Select your gender,

age, height, and weight

by pressing the increase

and decrease buttons

next to each selection. Height can be displayed in

either inches or centimeters. Weight can be dis-

played in either pounds or kilograms. To find which

unit of measurement is selected, see THE INFOR-

MATION MODE on page 22.

After each selection, press the Start Fitness Test

button. Note: Pressing the Start Fitness Test but-

ton at this time will not start the fitness test. If you

do not press the Start Fitness Test button, the dis-

play will advance to the next selection after a few

seconds.

4. Press the Start Fitness Test button to start the

workout.

A moment after you press the button, the treadmill

will automatically adjust to the first speed and in-

cline settings of the workout. Begin walking on the

treadmill. Note: For the most accurate results, do

not hold the handrails during the fitness test work-

out.

During the workout, the speed and incline of the

treadmill will periodically change. The speed set-

ting or the incline setting will appear in the display

to alert you before each change.

Important: The

Speed and Incline buttons will not function dur-

ing the workout. If you press the Stop button,

the fitness test will end.
