Before Taking A Measurement
1.
Avoid eating, drinking alcohol or coffee, smoking, exercising and bathing
for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement.
2.
Stress raises blood pressure. Avoid taking measurements during stressful
times.
3.
The cuff can be applied to your left or right wrist. Always measure your
blood pressure on the same wrist. If there are high differences between
the two wrists ask you doctor which wrist you should use.
4.
Measurements should be taken in a quiet place.
5.
Position the appliance at heart level throughout the measurement.
6.
Remain still and do not talk during the measurement.
7.
A single measurement does not provide an accurate indication of your true
blood pressure. You need to take several readings over a period of time.
Usually it is suggested to take 3 measurements and calculate the average.
Please note the appliance can calculate automatically the average of last
3 measurements (L3). Please see “Use the memory function”.
8.
Your blood pressure varies during the day. Try to measure your blood
pressure at the same time each day for consistency (for example within
one hour after waking up).
9.
It is normal for two measurements close in time to give even very different
values.
10. Wait 2 or 3 minutes between measurements. The wait time allows the
arteries to return to normal conditions.
11. Measurement taken by your doctor can be different from the measurements
you get at home as the situation is different.
