Setup Instructions for Series 3100V Level Switch
WARNING:
Allow only qualified personnel to perform the
following tasks. Observe and follow the safety instructions in
this document and all other related documentation.
When the adhesive level in the Series 3100V melter is low, the low-level
switch magnetically closes a dry reed switch which is connected to an
external device. The external device can automatically add more
adhesive or illuminate a light that warns operators when the adhesive
level is low.
The low-level switch consists of a float switch, shield, and terminal block.
The float rides half in and half out of the adhesive. As the adhesive level
drops, the float drops, signaling the terminal block.
The switch is intended for 30 VAC maximum, 30 W, less than 0.28 A,
Class 2 circuit operation as defined in Article 725 of the National
Electrical Code.
WARNING:
Hot! Risk of burns. Wear heat-protective clothing,
safety goggles, and heat-protective gloves. Hot melt material
may be release forcefully.
