Self-noise compensation
The displayed values for A-, C- and Z-normal -weight-
ed levels may, as an option (extension 18), be correct-
ed automatically for the self-noise of the microphone.
Using the Z-wide network together with the self-noise
compensation function is not recommended due to in-
creased self-noise in the low frequency part.
Diffraction around the instrument casing
The instrument casing is designed to have low effects
on the sound measured at the microphone. The figure
below shows the measured effect of the instrument
casing at reference environmental conditions.
