GENERAL
Read all instructions carefully before commissioning the filter system. Familiarise yourself with all illustrations,
descriptions and individual parts. The XXXXX filter is a precisely built filter and designed to keep the water in your pool
clear and clean throughout the season, if used correctly.
All swimming pools require maintenance in order to keep the water clear and clean. The proper application of the sand
filter in combination with water treatment using water treatment products leads to this desired result. Precise instructions
for the use of chlorine, algae killers and other substances should be requested directly from your pool equipment
supplier. The instructions for use should be followed exactly.
In order to keep the pool water free of floating impurities, the use of a built-in skimmer is recommended. The sieve in the
skimmer prevents larger dirt particles from entering the filter system and the pump and damaging them. Careful
installation and correct operation ensure maximum performance of the sand filter.
When the pool is put into operation, the water in your pool may be particularly polluted and initially require more
frequent filter cleaning in order to achieve maximum water clarity. We therefore recommend initially keeping the filter
system in operation more frequently. To keep your swimming pool water clean, it is necessary that the water is
circulated at least twice every 24 hours. The importance of proper and sufficient use of water treatment products cannot
be emphasised often enough. You should pay attention to the chlorine content and the required pH value throughout the
entire season (perform a water test at least once a week!).
FILLING THE TANK
Position the filter so that the filter pump and valve are easy to operate. The plastic filter tank consists of two halves
which are held by a clamping ring. A wrench (SW 13) is required to loosen the clamping ring, with which you can loosen
the two clamping screws until the ring can be easily removed. Then lift off the upper part of the tank. Now you first see
the upper water distribution system, below it the filter star. Next, start filling the tank with quartz sand (DIN 19623, grain
size: 0.4 to 0.8 mm *) or another filter medium. However, first pour approx. 10 litres of water into the tank and then line
the filter star with quartz sand so that there are no cavities underneath and the filter star fits well. Pour the remaining
filter sand into the tank. Before tightening the clamping ring again

carefully
clean the tank edge and the rubber ring and place the rubber ring in the sealing groove. Grease the sealing ring and
sealing groove lightly with Vaseline before use! Reapply the clamping ring and tighten the clamping screws alternately,
tapping on the clamping ring with light blows of a wooden or rubber hammer.
Important:
Make sure that the sealing surfaces and the O-ring are absolutely free of sand.
Grease the sealing ring and sealing groove lightly with Vaseline.

Important:
The grain size of the filter media used must always be larger than 0.4 mm.
