a)  Pump does not suction in water by 

itself, resp. it takes is very long. 

1.  Check the suction line for leaks, as the pump 

suctions in air if the line is leaking. 

 
2.  Check the water level in the pool. If the water 

level in the skimmer is too low, the pump also 
suctions in air. Fill the water level up to the 
middle of the skimmer. 

 
3.  Ensure that the skimmer flap is firmly 

attached. The pump only suctions poorly or 
the water column tears off repeatedly. 

4.  Ensure that the sieve baskets in the skimmer 

and pump are not dirty and clean them if 
necessary. 

5.  Check that the cover of the pump is clean and 

screwed tight. 

6.  If the suction line is very long and above the 

water level, a non-spring loaded non-return 
valve must be installed. 

 
7.  Check that the sliders in the suction and 

discharge lines are open. 

b)  The circulation pump does not provide 

enough power 

1.  The filter is dirty. It needs to be backwashed. 
 
2.  The sliders in the system are not fully open. 

3.  Sieve baskets in pump and skimmer are dirty. 

Clean! 

4.  The pipeline too long and suction head too 

high. 

5.  Suction line is leaking, pump is drawing air. 
 
 

c)  The circulation pump is too loud. 

1.  Foreign objects in the pump. Unscrew pump 

housing, clean housing and impeller.

Motor bearings are too loud, replace motor 

complete with impeller.

3.  The pump is placed on a bare concrete 

floor, causing the transmission of noise to 
the building (structure-borne noise). Place 
the pump on an insulating surface (pallet, 
rubber, cork, etc.). 

d)  Circulation pump does not run 

1.  Check that the power line is live.
