System scalability and expansion
83
New servers can be added to the pool of servers at anytime to meet
expanding capacity requirements. The new server must be added to the
service routing rules before conference traffic is routed to it.
The Meet Me Audio Conferencing service can scale up to five servers per
resource pool. In an IBM xSeries 335 or 336 configuration, five xSeries 335
or 336 servers are needed. In an IBM eServer BladeCenter configuration,
five IBM HS20 blade server processor blades and two Dual SCSI Expansion
Unit blades are required for a maximal configuration in a pool.
Note: IBM xSeries 336 servers can be added to an existing pool of
IBM xSeries 335 servers, but the IBM xSeries 336 server must be
configured with IBM xSeries 335 engineering limits. The additional
capacity available to an IBM xSeries 336 server is only available if all
servers in the pool are IBM xSeries 336 servers.
The available scaling options are described below.
Simplex--One Media Application Server is accessed by one static route at
the Session Manager. One active content storage component provides
storage for the cached user data.

Duplex--Two Media Application Servers are accessed by two static
routes at the Session Manager. Two active content storage components,
that are active reflections of each other, provide storage redundancy
for the cached user data. see
