Chart screen with waypoints
All the waypoints in your area are displayed on the
CHART
screen. As you press the
CURSOR PAD
to move around the
chart, the chart view displays as symbols all the waypoints
positioned on the screen.
Displaying waypoint names on the chart screen
You assign each new waypoint a name when you create it; see
“Creating a new waypoint” starting on page 6-8. You then have
the option whether to display the name directly below the
symbol. To turn on or off the display of waypoint names on
the
CHART
screen, see “Displaying waypoint symbols and
names” starting on page 13-26. If you change the
CHART
screen’s orientation, waypoint symbols and waypoint names
remain right-side up.
NOTE:
Some waypoints don’t have an actual name and don’t appear on the
waypoint list because they were created as points in a route or in the
trip. For example,
COORD
is the default name automatically
assigned to a waypoint created when selecting a location on the
CHART
screen and navigating to it. This point is labelled
COORD
on the
CHART
screen and in the trip.
