To set the distance and speed units:
1. Press the
CURSOR PAD
to highlight the
DIST/SPEED
field, then press the
EDIT
key.
2. Press the
CURSOR PAD
left or right or press the
ARROW
keys to select either
NM/KTS
,
MI/MPH
, or
KM/KPH
.
3. When done, press the
ACCEPT
key (or
CANCEL
to leave
the units unchanged).
4. Press
RETURN
to go back to the
SETUP MENU
screen.
Distance precision
Displaying distances at normal or high precision
You can display distances not only in nautical miles, miles, or
kilometers, but also smaller distances in their equivalent of
yards, feet, or meters, by selecting a
HIGH
distance precision.
To set the precision:
1. Press the
CURSOR PAD
to highlight the
DIST PRECISION
field, then press the
EDIT
key.
2. Press the
CURSOR PAD
left or right or press the
ARROW
keys to select either
NORMAL
or
HIGH
.
NOTE:
Remember: To display distances in feet, you must set the distance
precision on the
DISPLAY SETUP
screen to
HIGH
. The 961/962
won’t display feet if the distance precision is
NORMAL
.
3. When done, press the
ACCEPT
key (or
CANCEL
to leave
the units unchanged).
4. Press
RETURN
to go back to the
SETUP MENU
screen.
Tide height units
The units chosen here will be displayed on the user-selected
tide-station graph. You can set the display to meters or feet, or
choose auto. The auto choice displays the units used for depth
soundings on the current chart.
