The three sample screens that follow illustrate how a chart is
rotated when you change its orientation from north-up to
course-up.
In Figure 7 below, the chart’s orientation is set to north-up, as
shown by the north-pointing arrow in the upper right hand
corner. The vessel is on a northerly course line to the
MOUNTPNT
waypoint. In Figure 8 below, the chart’s
orientation is still north-up, but the vessel is now on a
southeasterly leg from
MOUNTPNT
to
GREATVIEW
. The vessel
has changed direction but the chart hasn’t.
