961/962 Operations and Reference Manual, Rev. A
When a course-up orientation is chosen (see Figure 9 below),
the chart rotates to match the actual southeasterly trip leg that
the vessel is still navigating on as it travels to the
GREATVIEW
waypoint. The north-pointing arrow in the upper right corner
shows that north is now at the bottom of the chart.
Figure 9: Course-up chart orientation
NOTE:
If you now change the chart’s orientation to leg-up while on this
southeasterly leg, the orientation of the chart is similar to course-up.
However, in leg-up mode, if you enter yet another leg going in yet
another direction, the chart is automatically rotated, immediately
upon sequencing to that next leg, even if you haven’t turned the
vessel yet.
To set the chart-orientation option:
1. At the
CHART SETUP
screen, press the
CURSOR PAD
to
highlight the
CHART ORIENTATION
option, then press
the
EDIT
key.
2. Press the
CURSOR PAD
left or right to select the desired
value, then press the
ACCEPT
key (or press
CANCEL
to
leave the value unchanged). When you return to the
CHART
screen, the new orientation is displayed on both
View A and B.
