Range rings
Range rings help you find your vessel on the
CHART
screen.
Their purpose is two-fold: One, they let you quickly locate
your position on the chart; that is, you can always find your
vessel by looking dead center into the smallest range ring.
Two, they graphically illustrate the distance—in any
direction—from a point on the chart to your vessel. You can
turn on or turn off the display of range rings on the
CHART
screen. When on, range rings are displayed as circles around
your vessel. The radius of the rings is shown in the lower left
corner of the screen, in user-selectable units (that you select
on the
DISPLAY SETUP
screen in the
DIST/SPEED
field). The
default setting is
ON
.
To change the
RANGE RINGS
setting:
1. At the
CHART SETUP
screen, press the
CURSOR PAD
to
highlight the
RANGE RINGS
option, then press the
EDIT
key.
2. Press the
CURSOR PAD
left or right or press the
LEFT
ARROW
or
RIGHT ARROW
keys to select either
ON
or
OFF.
3. Press the
ACCEPT
key (or
CANCEL
to leave the option
unchanged).
4. Press
RETURN
to go back to the
SETUP MENU
screen.
Distance scale
You can turn on or turn off the display of the distance scale
bar on the left side of the
CHART
screen.
To change the
DISTANCE SCALE
setting:
1. At the
CHART SETUP
screen, press the
CURSOR PAD
to
highlight the
DISTANCE SCALE
option, then press the
EDIT
key.
2. Press the
CURSOR PAD
left or right or press the
LEFT
ARROW
or
RIGHT ARROW
keys to select either
ON
or
OFF.
3. Press the
ACCEPT
key (or
CANCEL
to leave the option
unchanged).
4. Press
RETURN
to go back to the
SETUP MENU
screen.
