Manually entering a chart permit
You can obtain a chart permit via ship-to-shore or email.
However, it’s preferable to obtain your chart permits through
the usual method (Permit Disk), since chart permits are 35 to
42 characters that can be time-consuming to enter manually.
To manually enter a new chart permit (before loading a chart),
you’ll need:
☞
☞
☞
☞
the Chart CD (contains the charts)
☞
☞
☞
☞
the Update CD (contains the updates to those charts)
☞
☞

OBJECTIVE
:
You’re out cruising and
have decided to go to an
area for which you have
the Chart CD and current
Update CD; however,
you don’t have a chart
permit for that chart
(you’re either a Navigator
or Skipper user). You’ve
contacted your ARCS
agent/distributor via
ship-to-shore radio and
obtained a permit for this
chart. Now you must
manually enter the chart
permit before loading the
chart onto the 961/962.
