To use the last position fix as a starting position, and start
demo mode, skip to step #3.

To use one of the stored waypoints as a starting position,
press the
USE WAYPT
key, then press the
CURSOR PAD
to highlight a starting waypoint (if necessary, you can
search the waypoint list for a starting waypoint) in the
flashing red/green box. After you’ve highlighted a
waypoint, its lat/lon coordinates appear in the
LATITUDE
and
LONGITUDE
fields at the bottom of the screen. To
edit these coordinates, press the
EDIT
key, and enter the
desired lat/lon, course, and speed.

To enter new lat/lon coordinates for your starting
position, press the
CURSOR PAD
left, right, up, and down
to separately highlight the
LATITUDE
and
LONGITUDE
fields (the cursor defaults to the
COURSE
field), then edit
these fields as desired.
3. To simulate motion, enter course and speed in the
COURSE
and
SPEED
fields at the bottom of the screen.
4. To start demo mode, press the
START
key.
A dialog box appears, asking if you want to enable NMEA/
PPNM outputs for the next 10 minutes.
5. To accept, press the
YES
key. To decline, press the
NO
key.
In either case, the
CHART
screen appears.
NOTE:
As with various other 961/962 screens, on this
SETUP DEMO
MODE
screen, you can display a waypoint’s position as either lat/
lon or Loran-C TDs: Press the
TDS,LAT/LON
key to cycle
between lat/lon and TD readings.
