Changing alarm
settings
You can change the settings for the cross track, arrival radius,
DGPS, and anchor drag alarms:
•
the
CROSS-TRACK ALARM
can be set to on or off, and
the alarm distance set in nautical miles
•
the
ARRIVAL RADIUS
ALARM
can be set to on or off, and
the alarm radius set in nautical miles
•
the
DGPS ALARM
can be set to on or off
•
the
ANCHOR DRAG
ALARM
can be set to on or off, and
the alarm radius set in nautical miles
XTE EXCEEDED
This alarm means you’ve exceeded the
off-course limit set in the
CROSS
TRACK
alarm; that is, you’ve travelled a
specific maximum distance from the
established track line. You set this dis-
tance at the alarms screen. You can com-
pletely disable this alarm; see ”Changing
alarm settings” starting on page 12-6.
Yes, but only when
you’re well within the
limit.
ANCHOR DRAGGING!
This alarm means that you’ve exceeded
the distance set in the
ANCHOR DRAG
alarm; that is, you’ve travelled outside the
radius from where you dropped anchor.
No, you must manually
clear the alarm. Rais-
ing the anchor does not
clear the
ANCHOR
DRAGGING!
alarm.
Also, if the anchor is
dragging and you press
the
RAISE ANCHOR
key at the
ALARMS
screen, a
WARNING!
dialog box appears tell-
ing you that you’ve just
raised the anchor, and
that the 961 won’t check
for anchor drag any-
more.
