Change the crankcase oil. Refer to engine’s manual.

For long-term storage (more than 90 days) add a stabilizer/conditioner additive to the fuel tank. 

a) 

Run the engine to distribute conditioned fuel through the fuel system (5 minutes). 

b) 

Stop the engine, allow it to cool, and drain the fuel tank. Refer to the fuel tank section. 

c) 

Restart the engine and run it until it stops. Repeat this process on CHOKE until the engine will 
not restart. 

d) 

Dispose of fuel properly. Recycle according to local codes.  

Note: 

Do not store stabilizer/conditioned gas over 90 days.

Gasoline powered machines only: remove the spark plug(s) and check the condition. Refer to the 
section on spark plugs. With spark plug(s) removed from the engine, spray and appropriate 
engine fogging oil into the spark plug hole. Now use the starter to crank the engine and distribute 
the oil inside the cylinder. Install the spark plug(s). Do not install the wire on the spark plug(s).

Charge the battery. Refer to the section on batteries.

Check and tighten all bolts, nuts, and screws. Repair or replace any part that is damaged or 
defective.

Store the machine in a clean, dry garage or storage area. Remove the key from the ignition switch 
and keep it in a memorable place. Cover the machine to protect it and keep it clean.
