Overview
Putting an application under FLEXwrap management involves the following five basic steps:
These basic steps for wrapping an application are illustrated in the following diagram:

When following these steps to wrap an application, note the following:

Add FEATURE Line to
License File
Generate a
FEATURE
line for the application to be wrapped and add this
FEATURE
line to the FLEXwrap license file.

Start the FLEXwrap
License Server
Make the FLEXwrap License Server serve licenses for the new feature by
issuing a “reread” command (if the License Server is already running) or by
starting the FLEXwrap License Server (if it is not already running).

Rename Executable File
Rename the application executable to use a
.fwr
extension.

Replace Original
Executable File with
Wrapper File
Copy the Wrapper file (
swrap_nt.exe
) to the application’s location, and give
it the original name of the application.

Identify License File Path
In the wrapped application’s directory, create a license file named
swrapper.lf
, a plain text file containing
port@host
for the
lmgrd
process (a
License Server daemon) and/or the path to a copy of the license file.
swrapper.lf
is used by the Wrapper binary to request a license from the
License Server.
