Select a Package Page
On the
Select a Package Page
, you select a source package for conflict detection: the Windows Installer file you
want to check for conflicts against packages in the Application Catalog. You can choose either a package that is
already in the Application Catalog (a Current package) or a package that you want to import into the Application
Catalog prior to conflict detection (a
New
package). If you choose to import a package, you can also choose to
import transform files and patches along with it.
Importing a New Package
Task:
To import a new package:
1.
Launch the ConflictSolver Process Assistant. The
Select a Package Page
opens.
2.
Click
Browse
to locate and select the Windows Installer package.
3.
Should that package require transforms, set the
Would you like to include transforms?
option to
Yes
to
enable the transform fields, and then select transform files:
•
To locate and select a transform file, click the
New
button (
) .
•
If the package requires multiple transforms, you can repeat the procedure as necessary.
•
The order in which transforms are applied can be changed by selecting a transform and clicking the
Move Up
(
) and
Move Down
(
) buttons.
•
Delete a transform file from the
Transform Files
(.
mst
) list by selecting the transform and clicking the
Delete
button (
).
4.
Should that package require patches, set the
Would you like to include patch files?
option to
Yes
to
enable the patch file fields, and then select the patch files that you want to include using the
New
,
Move Up
,
Move Down
, and
Delete
buttons, as described above.
Resolve
Conflicts Page
View all detected conflicts and choose to resolve any conflicts that have an
automatic resolution.
Reporting Page
Generate various types of package reports listing data about conflicts,
validation, extended attributes, files, and registry entries.
Organize
Package Page
Relocate packages within the Application Catalog.
