When running as an application, the Exchange Gateway server console appears on the server
while it is running. For instructions on interpreting the information displayed on the Exchange
Gateway server console, and for information about other monitoring alternatives, see
Chapter 9, “Monitoring the Exchange Gateway,” on page 89
.

Stop and then start the MTAs in the GroupWise system.
This establishes the links to the non-GroupWise domain that represents the Exchange system.

After the Exchange Gateway has started successfully and the links between systems have been
established, skip to
Chapter 8, “Configuring the Exchange Gateway,” on page 61
.
7.1.2 Starting the Exchange Gateway As a Windows Service

At the Windows server where you installed the Exchange Gateway, click
Start > Settings >
Control Panel
.

Double-click
Services
.
In the alphabetical list of services, the name of the Exchange Gateway service starts with the
name of the domain where the gateway is installed, followed by the name of the gateway itself,
followed by Service. For example, if the domain is named Connector and the gateway is named
Exchange, then the name of the service is ConnectorExchangeService.

Select the gateway service, then click
Start
.
When running as a service, the Exchange Gateway does not have a console on the server where
it is running. However, you can monitor it in other ways, as described in
Chapter 9,
“Monitoring the Exchange Gateway,” on page 89
.
