Installing the Stand
CAUTION!
Personal injury and property damage!
The ladder may topple over when assembling the stand. This can cause property
damage or personal injury.
− Make sure that the ladder does not topple over when assembling the stand.
− Get a second person to assist with the assembly if necessary.
1. Place the stand
(2)
with the slip-resistant caps
(3)
on the floor (see
Fig. H
).
2. Position the bars
(6)
on the stand so that the mounting holes of the bars and
the stand overlap.
3. Insert the hexagon screws
(9)
through the mounting holes.
4. Fasten the screws with the nuts.
CAUTION! – Check the following points before using the telescopic ladder:
•
Check that the bars/legs (upright parts)/rungs/top bracket/stand are not bent,
warped, twisted, dented, cracked, corroded or rotten.
•
Check that the bars/legs (upright parts)/rungs/top bracket/stand are in good
condition around the fixing points for other parts.
•
Check that attachments (usually rivets, screws, bolts) are not missing and are
not loose or corroded.
•
Check that the bars/legs (upright parts)/rungs/top bracket/stand are not
missing and are not loose, excessively worn, corroded or damaged.
•
Check that the locking mechanisms and locking indicators are working
properly, are not missing, loose, excessively worn, corroded or damaged and
that the rung segments lock properly.
•
Check that the rubber bases are not missing and are not loose, excessively
worn, corroded or damaged.
•
Check that the ladder is free of soiling (e.g. dirt, paint, oil and grease).
•
Check whether the locking indicators are working and visible.
•
Check the fixtures for cracks and other faults, e.g. broken parts.
•
Ensure that there is no relative movement between the brackets and the
rungs/steps.
If one of the above checks leads to an unsatisfactory result, the ladder should
NOT
be used!
