Connecting to the iPack Through the Logger
Sometimes it is necessary to check the iPack ISP and phone settings while it’s connected to a logger. The
programming adapter along with the DB9 field programming cable will enable you to connect a
computer to the iPack through the programming port in the logger.
Note that the iPack can only communicate with one device (logger or computer) at a time, so make sure
that the logger is not working with the iPack before connecting with your computer.
With the iPack connected to the computer through the programming port, you may perform all the
same functions as found in the Pre-Installation Setup: iPack Configuration section.
Installing the programming adapter
1.
Remove the battery cover and find the programming port, which is located between the SCM
slots for channels 4 & 5.
2.
Insert the programming adapter carefully so that the 1/8” phone jack is pointed downwards.
3.
Plug the DB9 cable into the programming adapter and into your computer.
Using a DB9-to-USB cable
Most laptops and tablets no longer have DB9 serial ports, so an adapter cable must be used. In order to
use these cables, you must first install the proper driver for your cable. Consult the manufacturer of the
cable for the proper driver BEFORE contacting NRG Systems.
